What is G.I.G.?

The G.I.G. program (Growing in Grace) is a designated group for community and character building for all staff aged 14-17. We understand that for many of our staff, this may be their first job, or their first time experiencing a place away from home for extended periods of time, and our G.I.G. program was created to help these staff members to have supports while navigating the summer.

G.I.G. is a Discipleship/Leadership program incorporated in our Camp operational staff’s work schedule. It is aimed to help individuals grow deeper in their relationship with Christ.

What are the main principles of G.I.G.?

KNOW

Knowing the word. This discipleship program will help our junior staff become immersed in biblical truths and be challenged to dive deeper into the Word of God.

GROW

Growing in relationships. A summer spent with a cohort of other young staff to grow in character and relationships with one another. Creating a community of believers who can witness and support each other throughout the summer and beyond.

GO

Go and serve. Love in action is taught as through the role of a G.i.G. principles of care and Christ-like service will be illustrated through the attitude of charity and kindness to all of God’s people.

These principles shape the program to help each staff member develop in character, relationship, and faith throughout the summer

What will summer look like?

The G.I.G. staff play a major role on camp; they circulate through different operational positions on Camp. Each G.I.G. member receives teachings on key elements of Discipleship and engage in daily devotions and personal study. As G.I.G., each member is mentored by leadership, and they participate in team building activities to encourage community on camp.

Being a G.I.G. staff also means the joining of this small cohort of individuals that meet together throughout the week to grow in faith and as people. All G.I.G. staff play an important role in the environment of the camp staff, and we strive to exemplify the love of Christ to these staff members especially as they learn and grow as people in grace.

“GROW IN GRACE, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST. To HIM be the glory both now and forever. Amen.” – 2 Peter 3:18
